Huawei launched a new 5G smartphone using advanced 7nm chips made in China last year, which is unexpected by the United States.According to Bloomberg's previous report, Huawei and its partner Zhongxin International manufactured this chip, relying on American suppliers such as application materials companies and the Dutch ASML Holding NV equipment.
Since then, the United States has been putting pressure on allies such as the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, and Japan, asking them to further tighten the restrictions on China's acquisition of advanced chip technology.Washington also restricts application materials and its American counterparts to provide maintenance services to equipment sanctioned Chinese entities, while the Netherlands and Japan have no similar ban on companies in the country.
