Zhao Leji met with Kim Jong -un, General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea

On April 13th, Zhao Leji, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, who led the Chinese party and government delegation to North Korea, met with the General Secretary of the North Korean Labor Party and the State Chairman Kim Jong -un in Pyongyang.

Zhao Leji first conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping's cordial greetings and good wishes for Kim Jong -un.Zhao Leji said that due to the appointment of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, I led the Chinese party and government delegation to a formal friendly visit to North Korea and attended the opening ceremony of the "China -DPRK Friendship Year".This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea.What we have walked together is the 75 years of good -neighborly and friendly, fighting side by side, fate and common development.Under the new situation, China is willing to promote the development of China -DPRK relations in accordance with the lofty will of the two parties and the highest leaders of the two parties and the common wishes of the people of the two countries.

Zhao Leji pointed out that the friendship between China and North Korea was created and cultivated by the old revolutionaries of the two parties and two countries. It is the precious wealth of our common wealth to withstand the various tests of international changes.The Chinese party and the government always look at China -DPRK relations from a strategic height and long -term perspective. It is our unswerving policy for maintaining, consolidating, and developing traditional and friendly cooperation between China and North Korea.China is willing to work with the DPRK, under the leadership of the top leaders of the two parties, to promote new achievements in bilateral pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation, continue to support each other, and safeguard the common interests of both parties.China is willing to coordinate and cooperate closely with the North Korean side to jointly organize various activities of "China -DPRK Friendship Year".

Zhao Leji emphasized that China is in accordance with the strategic deployment of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to comprehensively promote the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with Chinese -style modernization.China is willing to strengthen the development and docking and deepen bilateral cooperation with the DPRK to continuously enrich the connotation of China -DPRK relations.

Kim Jong -un asked Zhao Leji to convey the sincere greetings and good wishes to General Secretary Xi Jinping.Kim Jong -un said that due to General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese party and government delegation visited North Korea and attended the opening ceremony of the "Friendship Year of the North Korea and China", which fully reflects the friendly friendship of General Secretary Xi Jinping's development of North Korea and China.DPRK -China relations have a deep foundation and cannot be broken.

When the delegation left Pyongyang, Cui Longhai, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the North Korean Labor Party and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Conference, waited for the airport to see off.

On the afternoon of the 13th, Zhao Leji visited and condolences to the librarian of the North Korean embassy and the overseas Chinese representatives.
