Bloomberg quoted unnamed insiders reported that this processor was made by using Acemai's immersion deep UV light carvings (DUV) with the technology of other companies.This means that the export restrictions on Asmi may have come too late to prevent China from making progress in chip manufacturing.
Asmi refused to comment, and did not indicate that the company's sales violated export control.
