(Jakada) After a few months, the Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD was approved by the Indonesian government, and BYD electric vehicles will appear soon on the Indonesian road.

The Jakarta Post reported that the Indonesian Investment Minister Bachlel said on Tuesday (June 11) that the government has signed a import recommendation letter, and the number of remedies that can be imported by Byd (BYD) in the letter.

However, Bachle did not mention the specific number, only to say that it depends on BYD's investment commitment to Indonesia.Before importing, BYD must be reported to its investment in Indonesia, the production capacity of the factory, and investment timetable.

Bachurel said: "We will make imported recommendations based on the progress of investment. If not remember, we recommend 10 % or 20 % of the total production capacity."

BYD announced in January this year that three electric vehicles are interested in Indonesia, which are BYD dolphins with a price of US $ 24,6,000 (below, about S $ 35,000), $ 30,500 BYD ATTO 3, and$ 38,500 BYD seal.

Although the company has received pre -order since February, it has not yet imported any vehicles in Indonesia.BYD said in April this year that the vehicle would be delivered in June.

BYD has also announced the construction of 108 hectares in Subang, Western Java, Indonesia, including production workshops, R & D centers and training facilities.The factory is expected to be completed in stages and put into operation in January 2026. At that time, 150,000 vehicles can be produced each year.

Other electric vehicle vendors, such as Vinfast in Vietnam and Citroen in France, also intends to import vehicles to the Indonesian market.They hope to make good use of preferential measures from the Indonesian government and make investment promises to set up factories in exchange for import tax and luxury sales tax for full -loading.
