Sources said that the Hong Kong HKMA will hold a press conference as soon as Friday afternoon, announced the launch of digital RMB cross -border use details in Hong Kong. The press conference will be chaired by Li Dazhi, vice president of the HKMA.
This plan is a pilot scope of expanding digital RMB in Hong Kong. It aims to allow more Hong Kong citizens to open and use digital RMB wallets, which is convenient for Hong Kong citizens to conduct cross -border payment on the mainland, and it is also convenient for the mainland to facilitate the mainlandVisitors use digital RMB consumption in Hong Kong.
It is reported that as of now, ICBC, Bank of China, Construction Bank and Bank of Communications can provide digital RMB wallet services to Hong Kong people, and they have also supported "fast transfer" (a cash transfer platform in Hong Kong)Value value.
There are at least 10 Hong Kong Banks participating in the fast -value value -added, including BOC Hong Kong, HSBC, Hang Seng, Standard Chartered Hong Kong, East Asia, ICBC Asia, Jiaotong Hong Kong, China Merchants Yonglong Bank, Xinyin International, Daxin Bank, Zhong'an Bank, etc.

Digital RMB is a legal digital currency issued by the People's Bank of China. The designated institutions are involved in operation and exchanged to the public.
