The Philippines sent a maritime ship on Monday (March 4) to perform two weeks of patrol tasks in northern and eastern waters in the northern and eastern part of the Philippines, and monitor Chinese scientific research vessels in Binhandon.
Reuters reports that Benham Rise is located outside the eastern shore of Luzon Island and is a dead volcanic ridge on the bottom of the sea.
The Philippine Coast Guard issued a statement saying that the marine police ship will patrol the waters of Binhanta, promote the awareness of the maritime field, strengthen the existence of the Philippines at sea, and observe fishermen's activities.
The spokesman for the Coast Guard said: "We will also monitor the reports that appear in Chinese scientific research ships that appear in Binham."
In 2012, the United Nations announced that Binhan Long was part of the Philippine continent. In 2017, the Duterte government renamed Binhamon to "Philippine Rise" to declare sovereignty.
Binhanlong has rich biological diversity and fish resources, but it is not located in the South China Sea, and Beijing has not claimed to have sovereignty over it.
