(Bangkok / Beijing Composite Television) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on China and Thailand to accelerate the construction of the China -Thailand railway on Monday (January 29) and open up the Pan -Asian Railway midline.

Wang Yi did not explain the construction schedule of the China -Thailand railway, but Thailand currently hopes that this 873 -kilometer -long railway can be opened to traffic in 2028.

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, who visited Thailand, met with the Prime Minister of Thailand, said that China and Thailand should speed up the construction of the China -Thailand railway, open up the Pan -Asian railway midline, realize regional interconnection, and promote Sino -Laoming Thailand.The development concept of China Unicom will be implemented as soon as possible, providing new impetus for the long -term development of the two countries, and opening up new space.

The Pan -Asian Railway is one of the infrastructure plans for China's "Belt and Road". It connects China and the Central South Peninsula countries, and even Malaysia and Singapore.

The Pan -Asian Railway is divided into three lines, starting from Kunming, via Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, and finally gathered in Bangkok.The railway construction in the Thai section has been regarded as a "debt trap" by some people. In recent years, it has been postponed due to cost distribution problems and crown disease epidemic.

According to Thailand, the first phase of the construction project from Bangkok to Nakata Mansion has completed more than 15%, and it is expected to be opened to traffic in 2027.The second phase of the project from Konlang Mansion to Lao Laos will be completed in 2028.

Wang Yi is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.During his visit to Thailand from January 26th to 29th, he held talks with US national security adviser Sha Liwen; he held annual consultations with Thailand Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister class, and witnessed that China Thailand signed a visa -free agreement with each other.He also met with Thai princess Silincom.
