Taiwan Semiconductor Giant TSMC announced that two advanced packaging factories will be established in Chiayi, central and southern Taiwan.

Comprehensive Economic Daily Free Times reported that Zheng Wencan, deputy director of the Taiwan Executive Yuan, announced on Monday (March 18) in Chiayi County Government that TSMC will set up two advanced packaging plants in Chiayi Science Park (Cowos).He emphasized that this is the industrial layout of TSMC in Taiwan, and it is the result of the cooperation between the central government and the local government.

Zheng Wencan also thanked TSMC for its layout of the world to leave Taiwan, and said that TSMC set up a factory in Chiayi this time, which will further drive upstream and downstream industrial investment, so that Taiwan's industries can move towards the next stage.

The Chiayi County Government said that the first phase of the TSMC's advanced packaging plant is about 12 hectares. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, and 3,000 employment opportunities can be created.
