The new site construction project of the Beijing Disease Prevention and Control Center officially started construction on Thursday (January 5), and it is expected to be under the end of 2025.
China News Agency reported that the three office districts existing in the Beijing Disease Prevention and Control Center were built in the 1950s to the 1980s, with a total area of 46,600 square meters.
According to reports, the new site construction project is located in Shuangbutou Industrial Park, Songzhuang Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing. It plans to build a total construction area of 124,500 square meters, which mainly increases the area of core functional rooms such as experimental rooms.Education experience centers, bacterial poisoning libraries, emergency supplies reserve and other businesses, guaranteed house area, and increased private defense and parking space according to the construction indicators of public facilities.
Among them, compared with the original site, the area of the experimental room increased from 24,000 square meters to 46,000 square meters. After completion, the laboratory testing capacity increased from the existing 1100 to 1,800.
The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Control said that after the new address is enabled, the scientific research capabilities of the center will be greatly improved and undertake the major regional scientific research projects and major national industry scientific research topics.Nucleic acid testing and gene sequencing ability will also be greatly improved, providing a good platform for the monitoring of the original monitoring of the Coronary Virus infection in Beijing.
