The Prime Minister of Tuvaru Natano sent a letter to Taiwan's representative office in Tuvalu to reiterate that Towaru was a firm friend in Taiwan and will continue to support Taiwan's democratic development.

President Palau's office on Tuesday (January 16) also posted on Facebook that Taiwan has always been a friend of many small island countries including Palau.According to posts, countries can freely choose to establish diplomatic relations with any country without coercion.

The Marshall Islands and Palau signed long -term defense and funding agreements with the United States; Tuvalu signed a security and immigration agreement with Australia in November last year.

After the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party Chairman Lai Qingde won the presidential election last Saturday (January 13), Nauru announced that he had broken diplomatic relations with Taiwan and established diplomatic relations with mainland China in less than two days.
