On November 22, the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection issued news that Gu Zhengju, secretary of the Nanchong Municipal Party Committee, was suspected of serious disciplinary violations and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Gu Zhengju, male, Han nationality, born in September 1966, Sichuan Xingxian, a graduate degree of the Central Party School.He joined the work in August 1986 and joined the Communist Party of China in May 1985.

Public information shows that he worked at the Communist Party of Xingwen County, Youth League and County Party Committee, and Yuping Township.

In November 1997, Gu Zheng held the member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and Organization of the County Party Committee. In 2001, he served as the secretary of the Yibin Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Youth League., Secretary of the County Party Committee, Director of the Standing Committee of the County People's Congress, Deputy Mayor of Dazhou Municipal Government, Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, etc.

From October 2014 to July 2021, he served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Nanchong Municipal Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Party Working Committee of Nanchong Linjiang New District.

In September 2021, he took the mayor of Nanchong City. In February 2023, he served as Secretary of the Nanchong Municipal Party Committee and was investigated in November.

According to Nanchong Daily, on the morning of November 19th, Gu Zhengju secretly visited the promotion of major projects in Linjiang New District in the "four nor two straights" method.

Before he was investigated, on March 29, 2023, Zhang Bin, deputy mayor of Nanchong City, was checked.Zhang Bin was the deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, the mayor, the mayor, and the secretary of the municipal party committee.

On May 16, 2023, Wang Xigang, then deputy secretary of the Nanchong Municipal Party Committee of Sichuan Province, was investigated.
