Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and the director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, Wang Yi, met on Monday (October 16) with former British Prime Minister Blair, and called on the Britain to pursue a rational, pragmatic and active policy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced on the official website. Wang Yi told Blair that China and Britain were both large countries with global influence. The two sides should strengthen cooperation and promote the world in the right direction.
Wang Yi described China's development as a enhancement of world peace and stability, and hoped that the British government would pursue rational, pragmatic and active policies to China, and enhance the connotation of Sino -British relations.The Chinese government is willing to strengthen exchanges with the British Labor Party.
Blair was the leader of the British Labor Party and served as British Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007.
