(Manila Road Power) China claims to cooperate with the Philippines to combat the illegal offshore gaming industry in the Philippines.

The Chinese Embassy in Manila issued a statement on Wednesday (October 11) saying that the Chinese government has always resolutely opposed and severely crack down on all forms of gambling.Since the beginning of this year, the Chinese side has assisted the Philippines to ban three illegal offshore gaming parks and repatriated nearly 400 Chinese citizens. The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the results of law enforcement cooperation.

The Chinese Embassy said that crimes induced by online gambling damage the interests of the Philippines, and some illegal offshore gaming employees abuse the Philippine judicial procedures and create false cases to evade repatriation.China is willing to fully cooperate with the Philippines to deal with the relevant situation, and also urged the Philippines to take strong measures to severely crack down on online gambling crimes.

The offshore gaming industry has risen in the Philippines in 2016. Operators use the Philippines' loose gaming law to target Chinese customers who prohibit gambling. This industry has created countless employment opportunities and billions of dollars for the Philippines, but it has also triggered problems such as illegal workers and money laundering.

The offshore gaming industry in the Philippines introduced a large number of illegal Chinese foreign workers, destroying the Philippines's law and order, and caused public dissatisfaction. In recent years, there have been many incidents of Chinese citizens who murder, kidnapped or other criminal acts.

However, the Philippine government has different opinions on whether the opinions of the offshore gaming industry should be completely banned.
