Yin Xiyue arrived on Thursday (June 22) with his wife Jin Jianxi to Vietnam for three days of national visit.He gave a lunch symposium with local Korean diaspora at a hotel in Hanoi that day.
He said that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Vietnam last year, and the bilateral relations have made great development.His trip will be a new starting point for building a relationship between the two countries in the next 30 years.
Yin Xiyue was invited by Vietnam's President Wu Wen to visit Vietnam from June 22 to 24.This is the first visit to Southeast Asia after Yin Xiyue took office in May 2022.
Yin Xiyue was interviewed in writing before being departed by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) that he hoped to deepen security cooperation with Vietnam, so that the rules -based order in the Indo -Pacific region could be stable.
He pointed out that South Korea will continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the field of maritime security. At the same time, he hopes to expand the cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam in the national defense industry with its recognition of outstanding technical capabilities in the global market.
He also said that South Korea will continue to support the Vietnam -South Korea Science and Technology Research Institute, and will announce a new assistance project designed to improve Vietnam's scientific research capabilities during the visit to Vietnam.
The Vietnam and Korean Science and Technology Research Institute is the largest unseen aid project of the South Korean government. The goal is to become a leading research institution in the field of modern technology application research and development, helping Vietnam's industrial development and sustainable growth.
Yin Xiyue pointed out that South Korea and Vietnam should deal with various crises facing the world, and look forward to cooperation between the two parties in terms of supply chain, energy, digital transformation, smart cities, climate change, etc."The scope of cooperation between the two countries should be expanded from manufacturing to services in the fields of finance, cultural and creative content, etc. The cooperation methods should also be developed into division of labor cooperation and complementary advantages."
He also said that South Korea is willing to cooperate with Vietnam, such as the United Nations, Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization, Global Green Target 2030 Summit (P4G), such as the United Nations and Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation.
