A delegation of the United States Congress started a five -day visit to Taiwan from Sunday (May 26), becoming the first US Congress member to visit in Taiwan after taking office.The delegation will meet with Lai Qingde on Monday (27th) in the morning.

The United States announced on the official website on the Taiwan Association on the official website that the member Michael McCaul will lead the group to Taiwan from May 26th to 30th.This visit is a part of the visit to the Indo -East area for the House of Representatives.

The United States introduced in the Taiwan Association that the delegation of this Congress will meet with Taiwan's senior leaders and members of civic society to discuss US -Taiwan relations, regional security, trade and investment, and other important issues related to the interests of both parties.

According to the Free Times, a spokesman for the Taiwanese government Li Wen said that the Presidential Palace sincerely welcomes the delegation to visit Taiwan.Lai Qingde will meet with the delegation on Monday morning to exchange opinions on issues such as peace and stability in the Indo -Pacific region and Taiwan -US economic and trade relations.
