The Office of the US Trade Representative announced in the middle of last month that the United States and Taiwan reached an agreement on the first batch of agreements on the 21st Century Trade initiative, involving customs and border procedures, regulatory matters, and small enterprises.

At that time, the Office of the Trade Talks of the Taiwan Executive Yuan described this agreement at the time not only the most complete trade agreement signed by Taiwan and the United States since 1979, but also represents an important milestone in the Taiwan economic and trade system that meets the international high standards.
