Why did the first generation of British Chinese immigrants silent?(Edition of January 10), as if he heard the phrase "Chinese, why don't you get angry", I feel ashamed of my generation. At the same time as shame, I especially want to think about a question: silence, or whether it is also a right to not be angry or angry, can we not be angry?

Not only Chinese immigrants in the UK are unwilling to talk about politics. As a graduate of journalism, in our class, we have almost never talked about political issues in the past 10 years.Of course, I will not think that this is a pride, but the reason may have practical considerations, and some WeChat groups are forced to dissolve because of discussing political issues. The deeper reason is that I think it is still a respect. It is very clear that in a large group, there are supporters of existing systems and firm opponents. If everyone publicly expresses their political stance, it may affect the friendship of classmates to a certain extent. In many people's eyes, the friendship between individuals is far more important than those who seem to be serious. What's more, the east culture has always advocated a kind of warmth and tolerance.

Although everyone is unwilling or unable to criticize the government in many public places, they actually criticize a lot in private. These private criticisms, to some extent, will also become a publicity, affecting policy trends. For so many years, one of my profound feelings is that on the one hand, the Chinese like to criticize the government, criticize the system, and have deep feelings of home country. The ordinary Chinese who usually like to criticize their own country have become extremely patriotic after arriving abroad. This is probably the feelings of home country.

The caution of politics in public may originate from the fear brought about by the pan -politics in history. The Chinese have been deeply harmed. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Shi could not go to prison because of his words. Although he was afraid of being terrible, the political atmosphere at that time was not allowed to allow a scholar to go to jail because he criticized the government.By the Qing Dynasty, the text prison rose to the extent that it was unable to add.In the Cultural Revolution, any individual's remarks may be infinitely politically politically, and the infinite outline is online. It is really a kind of tragedy in the world. The Chinese opposition to this generalization is not only opposed to the governors, but also advocating a political tolerance.Since the unlimited outline is online, it is allowed to allow a person to have both the right to anger and the right to be angry. Don't blame those who are not angry.

Democratic freedom does not mean a kind of arrogance, not angry is also a right. Some people who believe in democracy and freedom, as well as people who believe in collectivism. Some people regard democracy as a belief and criticize the system for life, which is worthy of respect; some people believe that in any case, they cannot do anything harmful to the country, which is also worthy of respect. In today's era, continue to hold high the banner of democratic freedom, and simply attribute everything into a system or system fault in an attitude of a winner. I think it is also an arbitrary or advanced. It is a bit inexplicable to rise to the criticism of most silence.

I especially appreciate the attitude of an old professor in college. He was deeply damaged by the Cultural Revolution, had his own views on the existing system, and had a personal longing for democracy and freedom. But in the process of teaching, or in private, he almost never simply criticized the system. Even in the era of relatively loose speech, even more than 20 years ago.

What he calls more about the most basic human nature is the change of thinking. For the requirements of students, he has given an example of my impression. He said that if you were arranged for a forced demolition, when the forklift was started, as long as you did not order the shovel, then it was fine.

Occasionally, I saw a choice question that talked about the death of Socrates. The four options were: A. It reflects the public's persecution of intellectual elites;C. Explain that the Democratic politics of Athens is the politics of mobs; D. To a certain extent, it is his choice.

I hope that one day, this question no longer has a standard answer; one day, we only care about one thing: why does Socrates die, can you not die?
