The Chinese Ministry of National Defense posted a news on Saturday (July 1) through the official WeChat account saying that the PLA Defense Strategy Consultation delegation visited Britain and France for eight days from June 24 to July 1.
The Ministry of National Defense of China said that the delegation and the British and France focused on discussing the development of bilateral defense, in -depth exchanges around the international and regional security issues that were concerned about, and enhanced the understanding and mutual trust of both parties.
According to Reuters, when asked about the delegation of the PLA, a spokesman for the British Ministry of Defense said the ministry hosted a Chinese -British defense strategy dialogue in London.
Spokesman said: "(both sides) discussed the contents include their respective national defense strategies; Ukraine situation; India-Pacific security; strategic stability and diffusion; South China Sea and Taiwan; and military relations between Britain and China." As Sino -US relations have continued to rigid in recent years, China is trying to strengthen and consolidate relations with European countries.The Chinese State Council Prime Minister Li Qiang visited Germany and France in late June this year, and repeatedly emphasized that he opposed various forms of "detachable chain", promising that China will continue to expand and optimize the business environment.
Some analysts pointed out that one of the goals of Li Qiang's visit to Europe is to prevent Europe from closer to the United States to block China.
On the other hand, British officials revealed that British Foreign Minister Cleverly may visit China in July.Britain is seeking to improve relations with China, contacts in the fields of trade, investment and climate change, while avoiding threats to national security.
