The Taiwan United Daily News on Monday (October 2) announced the survey results of the "Cross -Strait Relations Annual Survey".In the absence of the options, the interviewees were asked by factors that might cause cross -strait relations to become tense.15%of the interviews believe that Taiwan ’s independence is a variable that affects cross -strait relations, an increase of one percentage point over last year.

The influencing factor of the residence is the DPP governing, accounting for 13%, an increase of three percentage points from last year.Those who believe that mainland China does not give up unification and continuous military threats, each accounts for 9%, and the DPP's mainland policies and the presidential election next year account for 6%.

For Cai Yingwen's performance of cross -strait relations, the public is mostly negatively evaluated, 38%satisfied, and 49%is not satisfied.Last year's survey was 33%satisfactory and 53%was not satisfied.

In addition, 66%of the public claims that Taiwan should not tilt to any side of the United States or mainland China.If military conflicts occur on both sides of the strait, 48%of people believe that the United States will send troops to defend Taiwan, and 40%think not.

The survey was conducted from September 12th to 17th, and 1071 adults were successfully visited.At 95%of confidence, the sampling error is within 3.0 percentage points of the positive and negative 3.0 percentage points.The results of the survey are weighted according to the gender, age, and county structure of the population over 20 years old in Taiwan.
