The Russian elite confidence in Putin's war in Ukraine is getting weaker and weaker. Even the most optimistic person thinks that the best result that the Kremlin can obtain is the "freezing" of conflicts.
Seven people who are unwilling to be named because of the situation have revealed that many political and business elites are tired of this war and hope to stop, but they suspect that Putin will not do so.Four of them said that although no one was willing to propose objections on the invasion problem, Putin's prestige as the leader must be shaken.
Two of them said that the best situation was to negotiate later this year to turn the conflict into a "frozen" state, so that Putin, who holds some of the land in Ukraine at least, can give the Russian people at least a miserable victory.
"Elite between elites: they are afraid of becoming a guilty sheep of meaningless war", former Russian government consultant Kirill Rogov said."Putin's idea of not winning the war has been surprising by so many Russian elites."Rogov left Russia after the invasion, and is currently the head of the Vienna think tank Re: Russia.
A large dam in Ukraine was damaged by catastrophe on Tuesday. Kiev was accused of being Russia, and the Kremlin denied that it was responsible for the matter.
Several attacks in Russia have exacerbated a sense of insecurity, including the largest drone air strikes since Moscow encountered last week. The battle has spread to the Buergore in Ukraine, challenging Putin's image as a Russian security protector.
Putin and his senior officials insisted that Russia would win. Although the prospect of victory seemed to be unclear since the Russian army failed to occupy Kiev in the early days of the war, there was no sign of showing that Putin's leadership was facing any challenges.
According to four familiar people who know the situation, most elite classes just continue to work and believe that they cannot affect the development of the incident.Five people familiar with the matter said that Putin did not show signs of hope to end the war.
So far, public opinion surveys have shown that most ordinary Russians have continued to support Putin.
