The government recently published a comprehensive inventory of Singapore's epidemic prevention and disadvantages in Singapore to respond to the white paper in the crown disease. There is such a piece of text that makes me particularly impressive.

"In the face of great epidemic diseases in the future, we must know how to become more flexible. During the crown disease epidemic, we sometimes pursue perfection, and the results are counterproductive. And the medical plan of the crown disease is too detailed. When we balance the precision and epidemic prevention and simplify public health measures, we must be alert to the former. "

"Perfect is the ENEMY of Good" (the best person, the enemy of good), is the famous saying of French enlightenment thinker Voltaire. Moreover, some things cannot be perfected. The use of this sentence in Singapore's anti -epidemic experience makes people feel a lot.

Looking back on the history of resistance in the past three years, the government is actually impeccable in the implementation of some decisions and policies. For example, the vaccine is purchased early to promote the vaccination plan of the whole people; maintain the smooth supply chain to ensure that the supply of important supplies such as food and drugs is unsuccessful; and the huge financial resources are allocated to assist enterprises and employees through difficulties.

However, this road of resistance is inevitable when there is a ruggedness, including repeatedly uncertain mask policies, complex rigid safety management measures, and rushing home isolation schemes.Even though the intention was good, these lacks caused a lot of complaints at the time, and to a certain extent affected people's confidence and trust in the government's crisis.

From the conclusions of the white paper, these shortcomings are more or less because the government excessively pursues the negative results generated by perfect.

Indeed, under the sudden epidemic, the government's burden of carrying the burden of life, the economy, and the planned planning must be unreasonable, which is understandable. However, it also proves that when finding a balance between life and livelihood, it is impossible for the government to formulate a perfect strategy of dripping water, and it is impossible to satisfy everyone and break the myths of perfect governance and decision -making.

Because the local people are thick and have no natural resources, the Singapore government has attached great importance to formulating and implementing effective national policies since the founding of the People's Republic of China. For more than half a century, the government's governance performance is outstanding. Whether it is economy, education, medical care, housing or transportation, Singapore is among the top students in various rankings around the world. However, such excellent performance has also brought tremendous pressure on the government, trying to maintain a leading position and international competitiveness in various fields. However, if we are more afraid of losing, will we cause the more worrying to make mistakes, the more cautious, but in the end, it is still too late?

On the other hand, after many years of governance and decision -making culture, this generation of Singaporeans has gradually been infected, so that people can develop a competitive mentality of "no best, only better".The topics that have recently caused heated discussions about school places, house prices and work salaries, which were born in such an atmosphere.

People are uneasy about the status quo and strive for progress. Of course, it is a good thing, but once it evolves into a vicious competition that competes, the result is national unity and damage to the interests of the whole people.

Fortunately, the government has realized the disadvantages of demanding perfection, and they are also being able to adjust policies from education, labor and housing, alleviate the factors of malignant competition, ensure the common progress of the whole people, and prevent anyone from falling behind.

If the pursuit of perfection is positive, this is a good thing in itself, but if everything is well -expected, you will not allow yourself to have a little too much at any time, you will become lacking rationality, get rid of reality, and lose balance. This is the case for being a man, as well as governing the country.Sometimes, it's good enough.
