Miyong said that the most important significance of social sciences is to cultivate citizens who are visible and can actively participate and change society.Pakistani values students' curiosity, interest in the world, and participation during admission.

Institut Detudes Politiques de Paris Po, founded in 1871, is a famous humanities and social science university in the world in the world (QS QS2019), 6 of the 8 French presidents after World War II have studied here.Pakistani and China can be traced back to the 19th century. At present, it has established a student exchange program with 14 universities in China. The number of Chinese students studying in schools has increased by 25%in the past five years.

President Bazheng Frederick Bull; Freacute; Deacute; Ric Mion) came to China for the second time after 2014. In an interview with FT Chinese website, he first expressed surpriseThe rise of the company in China has gradually occupied a large space for everyone's life. From this perspective, in the daily application of science and technology, China is much more advanced than France and the West. It is like you skipped the middle stage and took one step earlier than us.

He has mentioned many times that as a traditional humanities and social science school, Pakistani is working on cross -disciplinary cooperation with schools including many famous schools in China to cooperate to solve the climate, health, technology and other humans.Problems that cannot be solved separately.Miyong said that although the mission of Pakistani is to cultivate future leaders for the world, the most important significance of social science should be to cultivate visible and active participation, and they are also capable of changing society. Therefore, in addition to outstanding academic ability, when Pakistani was admitted, he also depends on reiterating the curiosity of the invitbro -in -law, interest in the world, and participation.

The following is a partial interview record:

FT Chinese website: What is the three quality that Pakistani ’s most valued during admission?

Miyong: First of all, like other top colleges, we look at academic ability.Students admitted by our undergraduate and graduate stage need to prove outstanding academic abilities.

Second, I think it is curious and open -minded to the world. In the past study experience, they need to show their true interest in the external world, including other countries and other cultures, as well as current current affairs. In short, they should regard themselves as part of a larger universe, not limited to a small world of young people on campus.

The third point and the second point are closely related. We want to find students who can participate in the world. They are willing to affect the world positively. Our goal is not only to cultivate smart people, but also young people who actively solve problems in the future.

FT Chinese website: Is there any plan to deepen cooperation with Chinese colleges?

Miyong: We are strategic partners with the three universities of Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan. The relationship has been maintained for about 20 years. Our cooperation discussion mainly focuses on the three futures that will be very important, namely the climate environment and the future of the earth, the technology of changing the world, especially artificial intelligence, and their influence, health (including aging population and fighting diseases, etc.).We will invest a lot of resources in these three fields. These strategic partnerships will also have great advantages in these fields and are willing to play a leading role in these issues.Cooperation in these common issues will be beneficial to all of us.

For example, we decided to join the World University Climate Change Alliance.Tsinghua University announced at the Davos Forum this year to form the alliance with several important colleges and universities in the world, and also officially invited us to join. The alliance will be officially established in Beijing at the end of May.Our cooperation will include research and teaching, covering the basic education stage and executive training stage.Pakistani himself will also transform to more ecological/climate -friendly.

FT Chinese website: Social sciences are usually not the most popular majors in China. More young people tend to find majors with higher job returns. What is the situation in France?Do you think the popularity of social science majors is going downhill?

Miyong: There is always this problem around social science. For students, the connection between social science and high -paying occupations does not seem to be so direct. But I think this idea is just to see the surface.I think that in this complex world, social science is the best way to explore and solve complex problems. Our mission is to cultivate future leaders. We help students understand the world. After they leave the school, they can contribute to the role of the leader.

More importantly, even if you do not consider yourself as a leader in the future, I also hope that everyone can regard themselves as a citizen who is actively participating.Social sciences are helpful in this regard.

The whereabouts of our graduates are very diverse, including finance, consulting, media, public management, politics, international organizations, NGOs, laws, etc.Compared with business schools in France or other countries, our graduates' wages are also quite competitive. Therefore, it is obviously misunderstanding that social science is not linked to high -paying work.

FT Chinese website: Compared with France, do you think that Chinese universities need to change social sciences and make it more adaptable to the contemporary labor market?

Miyong: I am not very easy to make this judgment, because I am not very familiar with China's labor market. However, like our cooperation with Chinese universities, the needs of social sciences are now more demand for cooperation with other disciplines than before.I mentioned the three major areas before, climate, technology and health. We know that social sciences themselves cannot solve problems in these three fields. We must cooperate with other disciplines, such as cooperation with life sciences and medicine on health issues. There is such a trend in France. We are very actively cooperating with other disciplines. I have also seen this trend in China. This is what the times have for us.

FT Chinese website: What are you thinking about Chinese students?

Miyong: I can talk about Chinese students from the Politics University of Paris. The number of Chinese students has basically maintained around 500 in recent years, and they have two points impressive.First of all, very hard, China's competition is so fierce, and they have crossed a lot of obstacles before being admitted.Secondly, they chose to study in Pakistani to a certain extent to prove their independence.I know that many Chinese students and parents will prefer Britain and the United States. In the past 50 years, Britain and the United States have been traditional destinations for studying abroad. Therefore, students who have decided to come to Europe and come to France have chosen a different way. They also think that this study experience will make themselves different in the future development.
