(Hong Kong Comprehensive News) Hong Kong media reported that Chinese researchers are studying combining drone and artificial intelligence technology to launch smart fish torpedoes through rockets to attack submarines 200 kilometers from the China Coast Line.
According to the Hong Kong South China Morning Post on Saturday (November 4), in the Chinese scientific researchers' computer simulation military exercise, the Chinese PLA launched the torpedo near a nuclear submarine cruised in the international waters. And there is no warship or plane that can be used as a launch platform nearby. The appearance of torpedo makes the submarine caught off guard, so it successfully destroyed it.
It is reported that Chinese torpedoes can attack the goal 200 kilometers from the Chinese coastline because it uses a rocket launcher that has never been considered in anti -submarine operations, making it an unexpected "submarine killer".
Several military exercises recently conducted by the United States show that its submarines may penetrate deeply in China's defense and severely damage China's coastal cities. For China, detecting and suppressing the U.S. submarine fleet is the primary task of the military.
In order to accurately detect the location of the submarine, researchers at Northwestern University of Technology proposed that while the torpedo enters the water, it also detects the magnetic differential detector carried by the drone and keeps contact with the torpedo.According to the simulation results, a torpedo can enter the range of two meters of the submarine within two to six minutes in the water.
It is reported that China has been combining rockets, drones and torpedoes for three years. At present, many teams are turning their ideas into reality. However, China's engineering challenges include constructing sufficiently powerful chips to run complex artificial intelligence algorithms, as well as protecting drone and torpedo signal interference.
