The concept of Beijing Deputy Middle Center was proposed in 2012.According to the official website of the Beijing Municipal Government, the scope of the sub -center plan is about 155 square kilometers. It is planned to be initially established in the international first -class harmonious and livable modern urban area by 2035.800,000 people.

The Beijing Municipal Administrative Center moved into the sub -center of Beijing in January 2019. The first batch of 35 departments and 165 units in Beijing -level organs also completed the main body relocation at the time.
