Japanese media quoted relevant sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan that a Japanese man was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Changsha City Court of Hunan Province, China on the 8th of this month.

The report quoted relevant people from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan that the judgment did not clearly explain the details of the spy behavior, and mentioned that the judgment was the Changsha Intermediate People's Court.
The Japanese government has been negotiating with China, requiring to release the man as soon as possible and ensure the transparency of judicial procedures.
After the implementation of the anti -spy law in China in 2014, it strengthened social supervision of foreign people.
At present, at least 16 Japanese have been detained by China for suspected spy behavior.Most of them were sentenced to sentence, but it was not clear what kind of behavior was convicted.
