(Seoul / Tokyo Composite Electric) South Korea and Japan may be about to reach an agreement on the compensation issues of Japanese labor in Japan during World War II, which is expected to pave the way for the two countries to resolve a series of political and trade disputes.

Yonhap News Agency and the Kyodo News Sunday (March 5) reported that the South Korean government may announce the compensation plan on Monday (6th).

Kyodo News quoted diplomatic sources that the compensation steps discussed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries were that first of all, the Korean government officially announced that the Korean consortium would pay compensation instead of Japanese companies. The consortium donated and showed the inherited government conversation and the common declaration of Japan and South Korea to show the "apology" to the former labor.

Yonhap News Agency quoted government news that as part of the agreement, South Korea and Japan initially agreed to set up a "Future Youth Fund" to provide students with scholarships.

Kyodo Society said that after solving the problem of compensation, the Japanese government will revoke the export control of semiconductor materials implemented in South Korea in 2019 and re -listed South Korea as a "white list country" with preferential measures for security export management.Japan's Yomiramxisa reports that as part of the agreement, South Korea will withdraw complaints on the World Trade Organization for the trade dispute to the World Trade Organization.

The WTO agrees between Japan and South Korea in 2020, and Japan and South Korea are subject to disputes caused by the exports of three types of chemicals for the production of smartphone display, TV screens and semiconductors.South Korea claims that this is a "political motivation" move that harms the interests of Korean manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.

Yomiuri News quoted unnamed government officials saying that if South Korea announced an acceptable solution for the forced labor issue, it would pave the way for the revocation of control and the withdrawal of trade operations.

Kyodo also said that because Japan once said that the measures to restrict the export of semiconductor materials "have nothing to do with the issue of labor", Japan will decide the labor compensation plan in South Korea for a period of time to announce the cancellation of export control to South Korea.

The report from the Kyodo News Agency said that Japan and South Korea are also considering restarting the annual mutual visits of the leaders of the two countries.
