(Sydney Composite Electric) Xiao Qian, a Chinese ambassador to Australia, pointed out that China Australia must first repair the relationship between the two countries in order to try to resolve the political and trade dispute between the two parties. He also reminded the Australian side to seriously treat the Chinese side's position on the Taiwan issue.
Xiao Qian Wednesday (August 10) said in a speech at the Australian National News Club that the Australian government has provided opportunities for the "reset" relationship between the two countries. He hopes that the two countries will "independently judge and decide to develop their bilateral relations" in the place of "not being interfered", and strive to return the relationship between the two countries back to the right track.
After the Labor Government was in power, the two foreign ministers held the first meeting in the past three years in the Gatsdays of the 20th Golden Group held in Bali last month.Xiao Qian said that the talks are "particularly effective."But he added: "We have not reached the stage of discussing how to solve these specific problems, political problems, and trade issues."
He said that since 2009, China has been Australia's largest trading partner.Over the past 50 years, the two countries have also achieved great achievements in developing bilateral relations. But in the past few years, China -Australia relations have fallen into trouble.
Australia has supported investigation of the origin of crown disease, and banned Chinese telecommunications giants Huawei participating in the fifth -generation communication system (5G) network plan; China imposed sanctions on Australian coal, wine and seafood on the Australian side.
Xiao Qian said that the leaders of the two countries have not met in recent years. He explained: "This is because we do not believe that the meeting can help improve the relationship, we are worried that the meeting may worsen the situation."
He emphasized that although the two countries have the opportunity to restart the relationship, there is no room for compromise in the principle of "one China".
