(Morning News) A magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred in the coastal area of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.The earthquake did not trigger a tsunami warning.
The Japanese Meteorological Agency said that the earthquake occurred at 9.48 am local time (August 4) at 9.48 am (Singapore time at 8:48). The epicenter was at 37.6 degrees north latitude and a sea of 141.7 degrees east longitude.The depth of the earthquake is 60 kilometers.
The earthquake is recorded as level four on the Japanese earthquake intensity table, reaching seven levels in some areas of Fukushima Prefecture, and level three in some neighboring counties.
There are no reports on major losses caused by earthquakes or casualties.Japan's nuclear regulatory agency did not report any abnormalities in the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station.
