Marilyn Strickland, a Federal Representative, led the Democratic member to visit Taiwan and will meet with Taiwan Lai Qingde.
According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, the members of the Council visited Taiwan from Sunday (August 11) to Thursday (August 15).(Jill Tokuda), Jasmine Crockett, and a staff member.
During the visit to Taiwan, they will meet with Taiwan Lai Qingde and Vice President Xiao Meiqin, and accept Foreign Minister Lin Jialong's banquet to exchange opinions on important issues such as Taiwan -US relations, Taiwan Straits and regional security situations.
The press release said that Deutian visited Taiwan with the US Federal House Military Commission Chairman Mike Rogers last June. Other members were visited to Taiwan for the first time.The Taiwan Strait is safe and stands in friends. In the past, there were diverse methods such as joint signing proposals to affirm Taiwan's democracy and convey support for the people of Taiwan.
The press release stated that in the face of mainland China, it continued to invade the status quo of the region around the Taiwan Strait and change the regional status of the area around the Taiwan Strait.In the future, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work with friends from all walks of life such as the US Congress and the administrative department to further promote the close partnership of Taiwan and the United States based on sharing value and interests, and jointly promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.
