(Tokyo Composite Electric) U.S., South Korea, and Japan's National Defense Minister will convene a talk of the Three National Defense Ministers outside the court next month to attend the Shangri -La dialogue.
This year's Shangri -La dialogue is scheduled to be held from June 10th to 12th. The US Defense Minister Austin, South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong -hyun and Japanese Defense Minister Anxinfu are expected to attend.
The Kyodo News Agency quoted Japanese government officials as saying that the three -way defense minister plans to discuss and deepen cooperation on North Korea's recent provocations including launch of ballistic missiles in the proposed three -sided talks.
North Korea has tested ballistic missiles many times this year, of which at least four times were suspected of launching intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM).
South Korean officials say North Korea seems to have completed the "all preparations" of the nuclear test.The last nuclear test of Pyongyang was in September 2017. If North Korea resumed nuclear tests, this will be the seventh nuclear test launched by Pyongyang.
The new President of South Korea, Yin Xiyue, may adopt a more severe gesture of North Korea than the former Wentai government, hoping to regain the stagnant American, Japanese and Korean cooperation.In February of this year, the US -Japan -Korea Defense Minister held a telephone talks. If the report from the Kyodo News Agency is true, this will be the first face -to -face talks since the Three Kingdoms since November 2019.
Reports pointed out that South Korea and the United States Defense Ministers are expected to hold bilateral talks during the incense meeting, but Japan and South Korea's defense ministers are unlikely to hold bilateral defense conferences.
