Vietnam is expected to add 10 submarine cables in 2030. The United States reportedly urged Vietnam to exclude Huahai Communications and other Chinese companies in the cable construction plan.

According to Reuters, the five underwater cables connecting the global Internet of Vietnam have aging, and frequent failures have caused new cables to be the primary task of the country's government.
