(Beijing News) China Baidu Map announced priority to use the China Beidou Satellite Navigation System (BDS) positioning to replace the US Global Positioning System (GPS).

According to Global Network reports, Baidu Map officially announced recently that it announced the order of adjusting the positioning system, prioritizing the use of Beidou satellite navigation system positioning, and moved the original GPS order.

Beidou satellite navigation system with 35 satellites is one of the world's four major satellite navigation system suppliers.

The number of satellites of this system exceeds GPS, and is more than that of the Glonass system (GNSS) in Europe's Galileo Positioning System (GNSS).

Since the completion of the Beidou satellite navigation system in 2020, Baidu Map has launched a series of map navigation and positioning services based on Beidou system.

In recent years, Baidu Map has also integrated technical advantages such as artificial intelligence and big data, and has upgraded the functions of lane -level navigation and parking space -level navigation.

For example, the "lane -level accident warning" function of Baidu Map Navigation can update related lane information in real time when the vehicle is near the accident location, and guide users to avoid dangerous lanes.

The new system was launched on the first day of the National Day holiday in China, and the positioning volume exceeded 100 billion times.
