Hong Kong official Friday (November 1) announced that the largest coastal park in the local area was established, and said that it can strengthen the conservation of Chinese white dolphins.
The Hong Kong Fisheries and Peasant Natural Nursing Agency introduced on the official website that the area of North Lantau Coast Park covers an area of about 2,400 hectares, which is the eighth and the largest coastal park in Hong Kong.
The Fisheries Protection Department said that this is also one of the measures to be promoted to alleviate the construction and operation of the three runway system projects of the airport and the impact on Chinese white dolphins and fishery habitats.
The Fisheries Protection Department said that the establishment of the North Lantau Coast Park has increased the area of the protected marine habitat in Hong Kong to more than 8,500 hectares, and strengthened the marine environment and ecosystem of the Chinese white dolphin and North Lantau water.
A spokesman for the Fisheries Agency said: "North Lantau Coast Park is also adjacent to the China White Dolphin Nature Reserve of the Pearl River Estuary of Guangdong to strengthen the core habitat of the protection of Chinese white dolphins.The department discussed the establishment of the "Guangdong -Hong Kong China White Dolphin Ocean Reserve's Internet Platform" to strengthen cooperation between the two places in terms of management and law enforcement, ecological supervision and improvement measures, education and publicity.
