China Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying announced on Wednesday (October 11) that the third "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum will be held in Beijing from October 17th to 18th.Build the 'Belt and Road', work together to achieve common development and prosperity. "Chinese officials will attend the opening ceremony, give keynote speeches, and hold welcome banquets and bilateral activities for guests who go to China to attend the forum.
South China Morning Post quoted sources as saying that the leader round table summit held during the previous forum was expected to be not in this year's agenda.
Forum official website information shows that when China held the last "Belt and Road" international cooperation summit forum in 2019, the heads of state, government head and international organizations of 40 countries attended the round table summit.
This year is the 10th anniversary of China proposed the "Belt and Road" initiative.Li Ke, director of the International Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, said at a press conference related to the “Belt and Road” on Tuesday (October 10) that this forum is the most grand event in commemorating the “Belt and Road” initiative to propose the 10th anniversary;Representatives from more than 130 countries and more than 30 international organizations confirmed the meeting.
Russian officials revealed earlier that Russian President Putin received an invitation to China and will visit China in October and attend the forum.
The Wall Street Journal reported in July that France, Germany, Italy, and other European countries did not participate in the forum plan.However, the Chinese Official Media Blum Times issued a document on August 12 to refute that some developed countries leaders were not invited by the forum.
