(Moscow Comprehensive) The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Navy will conduct a joint maritime military exercise with the Chinese Navy in the East China Sea from Wednesday (December 21).
Comprehensive Reuters and Agence France -Presse reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Monday (December 19) that the main purpose of joint exercises was to strengthen the cooperation between Russia and China Navy and maintain peace and stability in the Asia -Pacific region.
Russia sent four ships including the Russian Pacific Fleet flagship Walgam cruiser, and China sent six ships, including two destroyers, patrol ships, and one submarine.The fighters and helicopters of both sides will also participate in the exercise.
The Russian -China Navy has held joint exercises every year since 2012.The project's project includes missiles in the East China Sea and firing with guns, and submarine confrontation.
Reuters also reported that the Russian ships who participated in the exercise had left the Haiqi Vagoda military port located in the Far East of Russia on Monday (December 19).
