He graduated from Sun Yat -sen University in 1995 and worked at the Department of Foreign Trade and Economics and Trade of Guangdong Province.In 2004, he served as Deputy Secretary -General of the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee, and then served as the director of the office.
In 2007, Zheng Zehui entered the public security system and served as the director of the Office of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.In 2008, he served as the Political Commission of the Public Security Bureau of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and was the director of the Public Security Bureau in the following year until September 2016.
