People familiar with the matter revealed that the Bayeon government intends to restrict China ’s acquisition of advanced chip production technology again. South Korea’ s two major semiconductor companies Samsung and SK Hemori may not be affected.

Reuters on Thursday (October 6) quoted people familiar with the matter that the US Department of Commerce will release new restrictions on Chinese technology exports this week to prohibit US suppliers from storing Yangtze Memory Technology (, YMTC), Changxin Memory Technology (CXMT) and other large DRAM memory chip producers such as CXMT).

The U.S. government intends to provide products for Samsung Electronics (SAMSUNG) and SK Hynix. However, if they seek to sell the equipment to Chinese companies, the specific situation may be reviewed.

People familiar with the matter said that the purpose of doing so is to not harm non -local enterprises.

The US White House and the Ministry of Commerce refused to comment on the above practices. SK Hylos, Samsung Electronics, Yangtze River Storage and Changxin Storage did not respond to the comment.

The Chinese Embassy in the United States described the above practice as "technology hegemony".They have accused the United States of using the "technology strength" restrictions and suppressing the development of emerging markets and developing countries.
