The Hong Kong Police National Security Department announced that they have a reward for five overseas Hong Kong people, which has been criticized by Britain and the United States.
According to AFC Friday (December 15), Li Guihua, the General Police Department of the Hong Kong Police National Security Department, announced on Thursday (14th) that each of HK $ 1 million (about $ 170,000) has been awarded five wanted awards.Overseas fugitives have strongly condemned the United States, and Britain claimed that it "threatened our democracy and basic human rights."
British Foreign Minister Cameron said he had instructed British officials in Hong Kong, Beijing and London to "emergencyly ask this issue."
Cameron also urged Beijing to abolish the Hong Kong National Security Law and end the persecution of political activities.P>
U.S. State Department spokesman Miller said that "the advocate of democracy and freedom" will continue to enjoy the freedom of constitutional protection in the United States.
Miller said: "We regret for any attempt to implement the Hong Kong National Security Law outside the region and reiterate that Hong Kong officials have no jurisdiction in the United States."People include Zheng Wenjie (33 years old), Xu Yingting (24 years old), Shao Lan (24), Cai Mingda (46) and Huo Jiazhi (42 years old).They were suspected of inciting the crime of splitting the country and colluding foreign forces.This is the second time that the Hong Kong police have been wanted eight overseas fugitives since July this year.
