Extreme rainstorms have killed 33 people in Beijing, mainly caused by flood flooding and collapsed houses. There are also 18 people missing.
According to the observation of the reporter of Lianhe Zaobao, most of the water and silt in the streets of Mentougou urban areas have been cleared, but it is still possible to see the remaining soil on the street.Some street railings and roads near the river have traces of damage. The water level of the river has fallen, but the river channel is full of garbage.
Many vehicles are also waiting for maintenance after being soaked by floods.
Yu Huafeng, Secretary of the Mentougou District Committee, introduced at the press conference that this is the flood with the strongest damage, the widest disasters, and the largest economic loss since the Mentougou District has suffered records.There are 310,000 people in the district, about 77%of the population in the region, and 40 villages to be rebuilt, including the Tantao Temple town where the Millennium Tong Tuo Temple is located, and 47%of the villages are affected.
