According to the Yonhap News Agency, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea said on Friday that the Chinese government issued a notice that South Korean citizen A, who was sentenced to death in China, was executed by the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court of Guangdong Province on the day.
It is reported that A was suspected of being detained in China in China in 2014 for the purpose of trafficking. In 2019, the first instance and 2020 were sentenced to death. After that, the Chinese Supreme People's Court approved the death penalty decision.China Criminal Law stipulates that smuggling, trafficking, transportation, manufacturing more than 1,000 grams of opium, Harolin or methamphetamine (commonly known as methamphetamine) or more will be sentenced to 15 years in prison, life imprisonment or death sentence.
South Korean officials said that from the perspective of humanitarianism, they regretted that A was executed.After the Korean government was sentenced to death, the South Korean government required China to re -consider the execution or slow execution of the death penalty from the humanitarian level through multiple channels.China has notified the execution of the death penalty to South Korea through diplomatic channels.
The official emphasized that this matter has nothing to do with China -Korea relations.
