(Morning News) Australia, which has tight relations with Beijing, does not consider renamed the "Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Australia" to "Taiwan Representative Office".
Reuters reported that Australian Foreign Minister Payne and Lithuania, who visited Canberra, attended a press conference with Lithuania, who visited Canberra on Wednesday (February 9).The authorities have conducted any discussions.
Payne said: "Australia continues to support a Chinese principle."
Mainland China means that Taiwan is an indispensable part of China's territory.
Lithuania agreed in March 2021 to let Taiwan open a representative office in Lithuania under the name of "Taiwan". In November of the same year, Beijing has reduced diplomatic relations with the two countries as the agency level. The two sides have recalled ambassadors.After the relationship was deteriorated, Lithuania faced various trade restrictions from mainland China, and officials in the country described it as "unlead sanctions."
