(Morning News) Researchers such as Israel and other countries have discovered the mechanism of skin cancer such as melanoma to the brain and found a way to inhibit cancer metastasis.

Xinhua News Agency reported that about 90%of patients with melanoma will cause brain metastases in the late stage.But the brain is a well -protected organ. The blood brain barrier can usually prevent harmful substances from entering the brain.Therefore, the medical community has been exploring the cause of skin cancer.

Researchers from institutions such as Tel Aviv University and other institutions use tissues from skin, blood and brain, and related cancer cells to simulate their interaction in the human body in the laboratory.It was found that skin cancer cells such as melanoma entered the blood, and it would release protein named CCR2 and CCR4, and the astrological glue cells in the brain would secrete a protein called MCP-1.The interaction between them can cause cancer cells to enter the brain.

Researchers have found that two methods can inhibit the brain metastases of cancer cells: First, use antibodies and small molecular drugs to block protein MCP-1, and the other is to use gene editing technology to knock on cancer cellsGenes related to protein CCR2 and CCR4.

Laboratory studies have shown that these two methods can inhibit the brain metastases of cancer cells. Depending on the intervention phase, tumor growth can inhibit 60%to 80%.

The above -mentioned brain metastases that suppress skin cancer have not been clinically trial.However, researchers said that the antibodies and small molecular drugs used in them have passed safety tests in clinical trials for other diseases, so it is expected to develop clinical application therapy quickly on this basis.
