Paraguay Foreign Minister said that the new government of Paraguay will continue to maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan, even if this may hurt their relationship with mainland China.

Paraguay Foreign Minister Ruben Ramirez told AFP on Friday (August 19) that if mainland China does not set up conditions, Paraguay will not mind establishing contact with it.

Lamirez said, "But China (mainland) has set conditions, such as breaking off with Taiwan, Paraguay cannot accept (this condition)."

Report quoting the Paraguay media "QuepaSa" reported that Paraguay's new business minister Francisco Javier Giménez revealed that he discussed a number of cooperation issues with Wang Meihua during the meeting, including inChaco, the original district of Paraguay, cooperates to explore oil and natural gas.

Gaminis said that Paraguay hopes to strengthen economic and trade relations with important strategic partners in Taiwan.He also revealed that Taipa will recently launched tariff negotiations in order to expand tariffs on Paraguay's meat transmission platform.
