Professor Chen Yiming, director of the Robotics Research Center of Nanyang University of Technology in Singapore, delivered a keynote speech at the Singapore Chuangzhi Forum in 2019 to share the experience of coordinated innovation of artificial intelligence and architecture technology.
Chen Yiming believes that the current manufacturing industry is facing low productivity, and robotics technology has reached a certain level after more than 50 years. With the innovation of the business model of the construction industry, the smart city will give people a lot of imagination in the future.
He pointed out that artificial intelligence can be used to improve the construction process, replacing or helping workers to complete certain tasks through overall coordination.
Taking the cooperation project with Singapore Jurong Group as an example, he introduced the application of spraying robots and detection robots in practice.The spray robot can scan and build the mold by themselves, and the spraying effect and quality are higher than artificially; and the detection robot can blend the scanned information with the photos and find the defect.
Chen Yiming believes that in the digital transparent construction, people, robots and data, and services are exactly connected, and the contractors and developers can see it, so that the project is more efficient and transparent.From the perspective of innovation, the automation of construction robots is unstoppable and the prospects are bright.
