China Labor Human Rights Organization said that the number of strikes in the Chinese factory this year has risen to a seven -year high. With the weakened global demand, exporters have forced exporters to reduce employees' salaries and close the plant. It is expected that the strike will be more frequent.
According to Reuters on Thursday (June 15), in the context of the economic progress and the downturn to promote the reduction of imports of Chinese products in Europe and the United States, China's exports and factory output declined significantly in May.
Chinese labor research personnel said that some factories were closed, or struggled to survive because it was difficult to pay the salary of the staff or dismissal.Investigators said that when the Chinese economy has gradually stepped out of the three years of crown disease and control measures, the above situation will survive the number of workers' conflicts, and will plunger consumers and business confidence.
The "China Labor Newsletter", based in Hong Kong's labor human rights organization, said that they believe that the manufacturing orders and factories will continue, "bosses just want to cut costs by simply laying off the cost."
According to the records of Chinese labor communication, in the first five months of this year, more than 140 strikes occurred in factories across China, which was a new high in seven years. The highest record of the last time appeared in 2016, when 313 strikes occurred in the first five months.
The data collected by China Labor Communications are mainly based on the protests reported by social platforms. Some of the incidents were confirmed by the organization's connection in trade unions or factories, but not all reports were verified.
Chinese labor communications said that many strikes occur in the China ’s manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province and the Yangtze River Delta, involving factories and exporters such as clothing, shoe and printing circuit boards.
