Japanese media reported that a Japanese man in his 50s was suspected to be engaged in spy activities and was arrested in Beijing, China this month.
According to the Japan Broadcasting Association reported on Saturday (March 25), the man was an executive of a Japanese company.The Japanese government sources said that he was detained by Chinese security organs earlier this month because of suspected violation of Chinese law.Men are reportedly arrested for suspected of being engaged in espionage.
The Japanese Embassy in China has made a request to talk to men and is collecting information about the cause of men's arrest.
Including this man, at least 17 Japanese citizens have been detained in China for suspected other activities such as spies since 2015.
