(Shenzhen / Taipei / Washington Comprehensive News) The Chinese technology giant Huawei's artificial intelligence (AI) product is reportedly contained in the US -controlled chip. The chip manufacturer TSMC clarified that it would no longer supply Huawei four years ago, and it has notified the US Department of Commerce.

Comprehensive Reuters and Bloomberg reported that people familiar with the matter revealed that Techinsights, a semiconductor industry research institution, recently dismantled Huawei's AI server chip to rise 910B, and TSMC is one of its multi -chip systems.

Shengteng 910B is regarded as one of the most advanced AI chips in Chinese companies. It is unclear how Huawei has obtained TSMC chip.Sources said that before the United States implemented export control to Huawei, TSMC was a supplier of Shengteng 910 series chips.

Huawei has been on the US sanctions since August 2020, which means that without the US government's permission, Huawei has been banned from purchasing chips involving US technology from TSMC and other chip foundries. In the past year, Huawei relies on China ’s domestic partner to produce semiconductor products, including Qi Nano chip Essence

Techinsights, headquartered in Canada, has not announced the dismantling details to the public. It is not clear whether Huawei has designed a 910B chip or an order for it before being sanctioned by the United States.

Reuters reports that for companies and regulatory agencies that produce high -demand products, the above discovery indicates that the implementation of export control is difficult. At the same time, this also shows Huawei's continuous demand for the most advanced chip.

TSMC issued a statement on Monday (October 21) stating that since mid -September 2020, the company no longer supplies chips to Huawei. The company actively contacted the US Department of Commerce in this regard, and has not been investigated at present.

Huawei stated in a statement that since it was included in the US sanctions list in 2020, the company has not produced any chips through TSMC, and "has never launched a Shengteng 910B chip to the market."

A spokesman for the US Department of Commerce told the media that TSMC may violate relevant reports from US export control, but it is not commented on whether it is undergoing investigations.

U.S. Technology Media The Information quoted people familiar with the matter last week that the US Department of Commerce is investigating whether TSMC is supplied to Huawei.
