According to the surging news report, the Lijiang to Shangri -La Railway was opened on Sunday (November 26), and Kunming can reach Shangri -La through Dali and Lijiang.

This line is located in the transitional area of the Yunnan -Guizhou Plateau and the Qinghai -Tibet Plateau, connecting many famous scenic spots such as Lijiang Ancient City, La Shihai, Yulong Snow Mountain, Tiger Jumping Gorge.

The Lixiang section of the Yunnan and Tibetan railway connects Lijiang City and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is an important part of the Dian -Tibet Railway in China ’s medium and long -term railway network planning, with a total length of 139.7 kilometers and started construction in 2014.

After the Lixiang section is opened to traffic, the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture will end the history of the railway.It will fill the gap in the railway network in northwestern Yunnan.
