According to the Hong Kong Media South China Morning Post, several sources reported on Sunday (July 23) that as the online shopping business slowed down, Alibaba's existing employee level system has become stiff.
For this reason, Alibaba will add more levels and cancel P9 and higher levels for senior positions.The current P8 level and above employees will be directly appointed by the company without level.
These changes will be able to provide more motivation for promotion for low -level employees, extend the promotion time of middle -level employees, and encourage senior employees to continue to contribute.However, according to analysis, more levels also mean that the difficulty of promotion of middle -level employees will increase.
Climbing to P9 position in Alibaba, or holding the same salary position in other technology companies, is the goal pursued by millions of young professionals in the Chinese technology industry.
Alibaba did not disclose how many employees in the company belong to P9 and above, but two sources from Ali said that such employees account for 1%to 2%of the company's total employee.
The annual salary ofP9 -level employees plus stock options can reach 3 million yuan (RMB, the same below, the same, S $ 550,000), which is much higher than that of China ’s per capita income of 36,883 yuan in 2022.
