According to Reuters, Neman is the highest -level US Treasury officials since 2019.According to the Ministry of Finance, Neman will hold an event in Hong Kong, "based on the president's instructions" to deepen the relationship between the United States and China, the two major economies in the world.
It is reported that Neman will talk to government officials, policy makers, scholars, American business, financial leaders, etc. during his visit to Hong Kong.
The US Treasury Department said in a statement that the topic of the conversation will involve US -Hong Kong finance and regulatory affairs, the macroeconomic and financial development of Hong Kong and China.Neman will also meet with students and young professionals in Hong Kong.
According to the Hong Kong 01 and Radio Hong Kong, Chen Maobo, the director of the Hong Kong Financial Secretary, said that he did not meet with Neman for the time being, but according to his understanding, there were other government colleagues meeting with Neman.
